One of the rarer opal colours, only a few nations worldwide produce the stone: Western Australia, Idaho and Oregon in the USA, Durango in Mexico, and Peru. This pink gem forms like all opal; resulting from the evaporation of water from silica, which leaves a gel that hardens into an opal. Not taking proper care of Pink Opals leaves them vulnerable to cracking if they become too dry. Over the course of human history, Pink Opal had been known to ancient Egyptians as the “Hope Stone”, being worn by pharaohs before beginning construction or conquest in order to bring him luck and show faith in his efforts.
• The stone ‘s modern spiritual meaning is not too different, as it inherently symbolises protection, as well as love, gentleness, and healing as with other pink gemstones.
• Pink Opal bears a striking resemblance to pink coral and conch pearls, making it an excellent and environmentally-conscious alternative!
• This stone is also useful for those who feel bogged down with worries, stress, and emotional wounds that need attention, as its calming and tranquil energy will work to counteract those negative emotions.
As it is a heart stone, Pink Opal works well when used in conjunction with other heart stones such as Garnet, Rose Quartz, and Green Calcite. However, Pink Opal is different from other pink stones, for example, in the case of Pink Opal vs Rose Quartz. Both stones do symbolise love and healing, but Rose Quartz generally represents romance and compassion, whereas pink opal more closely represents kindness to oneself.
